The International Authority for the Control and Development of Motor Sport is the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile, otherwise known as the F.I.A.

The Controlling Body for Motor Sport in the United Kingdom is the MSA based at Colnbrook near London.
The MSA's powers and responsibilities are contingent upon appointment by the F.I.A. in Geneve as the appropriate authority in Great Britain to control and develop Motor Sport. The MSA was previously known as the RACMSA.
