Viewed by many as the pinnacle of engineering and motorsport competition, the UK round of the FIA World Endurance Championship will be organised by the British Automobile Racing Club in 2017.
Held over the 14/15/16 April, the 6 hours of Silverstone will serve as the curtain raiser to a new season of FIA WEC action. BARC will fulfil the role of race organisers and will ensure that its renowned expertise will deliver a first class event for this prestigious championship.
The combination of committed major automotive manufacturers and some of the finest drivers anywhere in the sport will ensure that spectators are watching some of the highest level endurance racing of all time around the Northamptonshire-based venue.
Despite the departure of Audi from the pinnacle of endurance racing there is still a lot of intrigue to cast an eye over with the battle between Porsche and Toyota in LMP1 set to be at the forefront.
Joining LMP1 as ever will be a multitude of cars and drivers from LMP2, LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am; all adding to the spectacle that is the FIA World Endurance Championship.
With the 6 Hour of Silverstone race taking place on the Sunday, Saturday will see a 4 hour endurance race for the well supported European Le Mans Series.
Away from the endurance races, single seater sprint races will be provided not only by World Series Formula V8 3.5 but also the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
