BULLETIN BOARD

DRIVERS

It is part of our agreement with the title sponsor that all cars carry the required decals. The Centre committee fully supports the intention to create a more consistent image on the track and to improve the perception of the championship generally.

Sponsors' decals will be available at the next race meeting. These should be fitted to cars before the race. Drivers may be refused access to the track if the decals are not fitted in accordance with our commercial agreement.

For Performance and Economy Chip Tuning there are panels to take racing numbers for fitting each side to the doors and the front of the car. There is also a windscreen sun strip. Z Cars will be providing a small decal. Please ensure that you also have your class letter adjacent to the number and that all racing numbers comply with the Blue Book and championship regulations.

General Information

This Centre of the British Automobile Racing Club has existed since the end of the Second World War, and has organised many different types of competitive motor sport. Over the years, we have successfully run:

Rob Pritchard leads a varied field at Oulton Park.

For many years, we were responsible for running one of the premier stages on what was then known as the Lombard RAC Rally.

Historically, our Race Meetings have included rounds of the following high profile Championships :-

Nowadays, this Centre runs Race Meetings at the Oulton Park and

Anglesey Circuits, and together with the use of other regional circuits, we organise the sports/saloon championshipwhich attracts considerable interest amongst racing fans in the North West of Britain.

The first lap charge down the Avenue at Oulton Park.

In the early years, the Chairmanship of the Centre changed annually, but in 1959, Mr. H.M. "Jock" Sinclair took the Chair, and began the work which has shaped the North Western Centre into the dynamic region of the BARC which it is today, organising Race Meetings and a well supported and closely contended regional Championship.

Since "Jock", there have been three other Chairmen; Ken Mitchell, Dave Blundell and the present incumbent, Ray Sumner.

There is also a Social side to the Centre, with a Christmas Social and our annual Dinner and Dance; "The Real Night Out!"  Keep an eye on our Calendar section for more details of these dates and venues etc.
