Our annual regional Dinner Dance took place on the 24th January 2009 at the Marriott Tudor Park Hotel & Country Club, Maidstone, and was a sell-out. A report will follow shortly in the next Chairmans Chat.

The Committee of the South Eastern Centre of the BARC are very grateful to the following organisations and persons for their continued help and support in maintaining the activities of this Centre:

General Information :

This Centre of the British Automobile Racing Club has existed since the end of the Second World War,
and has organised many different types of competitive motor sport.

Over the years, we have successfully run :-

• Motor Races at several different Circuits
• Rallycross events
• Sprints
• Road Rallies
• Stage Rallies
• Autocross events
• Treasure Hunts
• Driving Tests

Nowadays, this Centre runs Race Meetings at Lydden and Sprints at Goodwood. We also purchase slots within other club's meetings at various circuits, including Brands Hatch, Castle Combe and Snetterton.

In the early years, the Chairmanship of the Centre changed annually, but during 2004 Andrew Ratcliffe took over from John White who had chaired the Centre for several years.
More recently, Rod Birley stepped up into the role, and he is the current chairman.

There is also a Social side to the Centre, with a Treasure Hunt and our annual Dinner/Dance and Awards Evening - "The Real Night Out!"
