The final round of our 2009 Dunlop Motorsport News Saloon Car Championship has now been run.
The Dunlop Motorsport News Champion for 2009 is ROD BIRLEY.   Congratulations to Rod !!

Following on from Chairman Rod Birley's success in the 2009 Championship, it is worth pointing out that Rod is now believed to be one of the most successful British Competitor's of all time, in terms of race wins.
Rod has now managed to win an amazing 500 races, and the following photograph was recently given pride of place on the cover of the BARC South East magazine. Congratulations Rod!

South Eastern Centre Annual Dinner Dance :

The Committee of the South Eastern Centre of the BARC are very grateful to the following organisations and persons for their continued help and support in maintaining the activities of this Centre:

General Information :

This Centre of the British Automobile Racing Club has existed since the end of the Second World War,
and has organised many different types of competitive motor sport.

Over the years, we have successfully run :-

• Motor Races at several different Circuits
• Rallycross events
• Sprints
• Road Rallies
• Stage Rallies
• Autocross events
• Treasure Hunts
• Driving Tests

Nowadays, this Centre runs Race Meetings at Lydden and Sprints at Goodwood. We also purchase slots within other club's meetings at various circuits, including Brands Hatch, Castle Combe and Snetterton.

In the early years, the Chairmanship of the Centre changed annually, but during 2004 Andrew Ratcliffe took over from John White who had chaired the Centre for several years.
More recently, Rod Birley stepped up into the role, and he is the current chairman.

There is also a Social side to the Centre, with a Treasure Hunt and our annual Dinner/Dance and Awards Evening - "The Real Night Out!"
