Dorothy Uwota was awarded the 2026 Pirelli British Grand Prix Marshal of the Year Award at Silverstone this past weekend (July 4-5) for her dedication and long-standing service to motorsport.
The coveted award was presented to her on the grid at the Home of British Motor Racing by Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team driver and current Formula 1 World Championship title challenger George Russell.
Dorothy – who is a valued member of the British Automobile Racing Club family and an integral part of the Council – is the Chief Pit Lane Marshal for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, having started volunteering at the event back in 2001.
Starting out as Pit/Grid Marshal, Dorothy became the Assistant Pit/Grid Marshal in 2012 and then two years later, was promoted to Deputy Pit/Grid Marshal before becoming Chief Pit/Grid Marshal, a role she has held since 2022.
Everyone at the BARC wish to extend their warmest congratulations to Dorothy on what is a momentous achievement and fitting award.
