The Adrian Flux Insurance MG Owners Club Championship is the epicentre for fans of the legendary British manufacturer, delivering blockbuster wheel-to-wheel racing from a variety of eras.
Bringing together machinery from the Morris Garages’ glorious history – with closely fought action on some of Britain’s classic circuits, he championship is a haven for competitors and spectators alike, as childhood favourites from a variety of decades go head-to-head on the same piece of circuit.
Considered to be one of the biggest one-make car clubs in the world with more than 35,000 members, the MG Owners Club launched the championship in 1981 and with help from the British Automobile Racing Club, it has continued to grow each season as it edges towards its Golden Anniversary.
The racing series operates a multi-class format, with the ethos of cost-effective racing with cars staying true to the production specification parameters – with only a few performance modifications permitted.
This season, we can expect to once again see several classes on track. We wind back the clock and begin with Class A which is home to the likes of the stylish MGB, MGB GT, MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite models, whilst Class B encompasses the MG Maestro, MG Montego and MG ZS120 saloon cars.
Elsewhere, Class F and Class Z welcome the more modern machines from the marque such as the MGF 1.8VVC sports car and nimble MG ZR 160 hot-hatch to name but a few.
