The Porsche Sprint Challenge GB is the latest championship to be added to the Porsche Motorsport GB pyramid, sitting between the Porsche Classic Boxster Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
The 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport has been the car chosen to spearhead the new-for-2020 one-make category with drivers set to enjoy the delights of a mid-mounted 3.8-litre flat-six engine, delivering 425 hp to the rear wheels though a six-speed gearbox.
Accommodating both amateur and professional drivers alike, the championship will operate a two-category structure: Pro and Am. While both will feature on the same grid, each category will operate with its own points structure and championship table, like Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
For its inaugural season, the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB boasts a calendar that blends both the upper and lower levels of Porsche’s Motorsport pyramid, ensuring that maximum commercial exposure is guaranteed.
One event will take place alongside the Porsche Club Motorsport whilst the remaining five weekends will spread across the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship and British GT Championship support packages.
