Pembrey revved up for blockbuster Autumn Truckfest weekend

The British Automobile Racing Club will make a return to Pembrey Circuit this weekend (October 5/6) for one of the biggest events of the season at the Welsh venue, Autumn Truckfest.

Following on from the hugely successful Spring Truckfest back in May, a bumper crowd is expected to descend trackside from an exciting two days of track acton – headlined by the MV Commercial BTRA Championship.

Producing plenty of heavyweight thrills and spills at almost every turn this year, the battle for supremacy in both Division 1 and Division 2 is set to reach boiling point with eight races scheduled in total. At the summit of Division 1, Ryan Smith and David Jenkins have been locked in a dual since the start of the year.

Bidding to write his name into the history books by winning a fourth consecutive Division 1 title, Smith has enjoyed another scintillating season so far and finds himself in the pound seat arriving in South Wales holding a 16-point lead.

Jenkins has been steadily chipping away, wracking up the points. Doubling his win tally to four last time out at Snetterton, the former champion is now within striking range of his MAN counterpart so expect him to be giving it his all to close the deficit.

Beyond the top two, the like of Richard Collett, John Newell and Mark Taylor will all be worth monitoring on as they chase more silverware.

In Division 2, Luke Garrett could be crowned champion in South Wales if things fall his way. On course to successfully retain his crown, the MAN driver will need to leave Pembrey with an advantage of 64-points if he is to become a double title winner.

John Bowler, Steve Powell, Paul Rivett and Brad Smith all find themselves within mathematical contention and any one of them could prove to be a threat.

From the five-tonne monsters of the BTRA to the 5/8 scale pockets rockets of the Legends UK National Championship with MRF, there is set to be something for everyone a the picturesque Welsh track over the course of the weekend.

Renowned for delivering high-octane entertainment, a bumper grid will duke it out in the battle for supremacy with six races scheduled to take place. All eyes will likely be on Miles Rudman and Sean Smith as they continue to fight to be crowned champion for the first-ever time in the series.

The Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship will bring the curtain down on its 2019 campaign. Home to some of the most iconic MG models that have rolled off the production line across recent decades, the multi-class championship has enjoyed another ultra-competitive season; with it all now culminating at Pembrey.

Two 20-minute encounters will be all that stands in the way of title glory for the lead contenders and the likes of Jim Baynam, David Amphlett, Simon Kendrick, Stephen McDermid and Steve Darbey will be all worth keeping an eye on.

Alongside the BARC action will be on-track thrills from the Welsh Racing Driver’s Association and the Teideman Trophy.

Tickets for this weekend’s Autumn Truckfest will be available to purchase on the gate from £15.00 per day. For more event information regarding ticket prices, head to http://pembreycircuit.co.uk/racing/british-trucks-october
