Max5 Racing Championship revved up to headline Cadwell Park race day

The British Automobile Racing Club will make the second of its three 2019 visits to Cadwell Park this Saturday (August 31) with the Max5 Racing Championship headlining what is expected to be an action-packed race day.

Renowned for its sweeping curves and undulations, the Lincolnshire-based venue is favourite amongst competitors and spectators alike and is likely to serve up a multitude of thrills and spills.

Staging what will be the penultimate event of the season, crunch time approaches in the Max5 Racing Championship and one of the biggest entry lists of the year is expected for the popular one-make series.

In the title race, Paul Roddison will be one to watch as he bids to continue his dominant run of form by adding another two victories to his already impressive tally. Leading the chase for the reigning champion includes Ian Loversidge, Jeremy Shipley and Andrew Pretorius – all of whom are capable of triumphing too.

Elsewhere, Matthew Tidmarsh will be a man on a mission as he bids for Class B honours whilst Steve Kite could well take a step close to overall glory in Class C. With an ultra-competitive grid set to go wheel-to-wheel, it is all to play for at the sharp end of the grid across the days two encounters.

It won’t just the Max5 Racing Championship that takes centre stage either at Cadwell Park as the British Superkarts Championship.

Providing a flat-out adrenaline rush like no other and clocking mind-boggling speeds mere millimetres off of the tarmac, the category will take a step closer to crowning its class champions as Cadwell hosts its penultimate meeting of 2019 as well.

Also timetabled to be in action during the day is the Darlington & District Motor Club, whilst there will be plenty of doorhandle-to-doorhandle entertainment from the Mini Se7en Championship as well.

Snetterton plays host to memorable BARC summer spectacle

Snetterton played host to an action-packed two days of British Automobile Racing Club entertainment this past weekend (August 10/11) as several championships descended on the Norfolk venue for a spectacular summer showcase.

Boasting a bumper bill of track action, the Club’s second consecutive weekend at the East Anglia track proved to be full of the typical thrills and spills that fans have become accustomed to – with several drivers and team producing dominant displays.

The Team ABBA Racing duo of Richard Neary and Sam Neary were one of those to exert their dominance over the course of the weekend as they reigned supreme in the Dunlop Endurance Championship.

Sharing the driving duties of their Mercedes AMG GT GT3, the pair proved to be in a league of their own around the 2.97-mile layout as they scored victory in both one-hour encounters.

Those in attendance were treated to further endurance antics from the Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Series on Sunday as the popular one-make category staged its latest three-hour race, with a staggering 52-car entry list.

Following a total of 60 laps being completed, McAttack Racing’s Simon Walker-Hansell, Joe Wiggin and Declan McDonnell tallied another stellar victory – albeit by less than a second from their nearest rivals.

Paul Roddison reestablished himself as the man to beat in the Max5 Racing Championship, scoring a brace of race wins. After seeing his winning streak ended at the previous event, Roddison bounced back in style to dominate proceedings in both encounters.

Rick Morris was another driver to enjoy a near-perfect weekend around the challenging 2.97-mile circuit as he triumphed in the Luna Logistics Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship; wrestling back control of the title fight from Tim Harvey.

Spoils were shared between Ronan Pearson and James Colburn in the Michelin Clio Cup Series whilst the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship saw victory fall the way of Steve McDermid.

Capping of the weekend’s action were a trio of races from the new-for-2019 UK Sports Prototype Cup, which saw Rob Wheldon and Jon Macrae power their way to the top step of the podium.

BARC heads back to Snetterton for action-packed club weekend

The British Automobile Racing Club descends on Snetterton this weekend (August 10/11) for the second of three consecutive events in East Anglia – with seven championships all revved up to take centre stage.

Following on from last weekend’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship meeting and ahead of next weekend’s 2CV Racing season finale, the Norfolk venue will play host to what is set to be an action-packed two days of racing.

Topping the bill on Saturday will be two one-hour encounters from the Dunlop Endurance Championship, which is reaching the business end of the 2019 campaign. Showcasing some of the most jaw-dropping cars to compete in the UK, a bumper grid will hit the track for the latest chapter of another

Ferrari 488 Challenge duo Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz lead the way heading into the sixth meeting of the year but nothing is guaranteed – with a long line of contenders all hot on their heels and ready to pounce.

Single seater thrills and spills will come in the shape of the Luna Logistics Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship around the 2.97-mile layout as Tim Harvey and Rick Morris renew their duel at the standings summit.

Just a single point separates the pair heading into the weekend and both will be eager to open up and advantage over the other. Elsewhere; Mike Gardner, Stuart Kestenbaum and Mark Armstrong are just three of several drivers all aiming to put themselves into the win bracket.

The battle for supremacy in the Max5 Racing Championship is set to further intensify too, with Paul Roddison aiming to get back to winning ways. after seeing his unbeaten streak come to an end at Mallory Park courtesy of Ian Loversidge.

Setting his sights on a return to the top step of the podium, Roddison will be a hard challenge to beat however the likes of Jeremy Shipley, Andrew Pretorius, Chris Clarke and Ben Thompson are likely to be in the mix across the weekend’s two races too.

Fans of tin top racing will be well-catered for too over the course of the weekend with no less than three championships set to get those in attendance on the edge of their seats. Retro entertainment will come in the shape of the Lancaster Insurance MG Owners Club Championship whilst the Michelin Clio Cup Series is one not to be missed as an ultra-competitive grid of hat hatches goes wheel-to-wheel.

Arguably one of the highlights on Sunday will be the latest instalment of the Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Series. Enjoying what is a history-making year for the one-make category, another ultra-competitive line-up gets ready to battle for race honours with a three-hour encounter bringing the curtain down on the weekend.

Front-running teams that have entered to keep a watchful eye on include Amigo Motorsport, McAttack Racing, Diablo Racing and Spy Motorsport – to name but a few.

Rounding out the weekend’s action at Snetterton will be the latest rounds of the new-for-2019 UK Sports Prototype Cup. Growing in stature as each month passes, the category – which caters for both Revolution Race Cars and Radicals – has garnered rave reviews already.

Four BARC categories make a splash at Mallory Park

The British Automobile Racing Club battled treacherous conditions at Mallory Park this past Sunday (July 28) to serve up a plethora of on-track entertainment, with four categories taking centre stage.

Having basked in scorching temperatures leading up to the one-day event, the Leicestershire-based venue saw heavy rain fall throughout the meeting, adding further spice to what was set to be an action-packed meeting.

Tackling the iconic oval layout of Mallory Park for the first time this season, the Pickup Truck Racing Championship didn’t disappoint as it continued its 2019 campaign in sensational style.

Dale Gent produced a storming drive in the opening encounter to power his machine from seventh place on the first lap onto a second victory of the season – by more than five seconds as well. Daniel Petters and George Turiccki rounded out the podium in second and third.

Race two saw championship leader Michael Smith come to the fore as he narrowly edged out Reece Jones to win by little over half a second, strengthening his position as one of the main title protagonists this year. Mark Willis headed Gent by the smallest of margins to claim a distant third.

Spoils were shared in the Max5 Racing Championship as Paul Roddison finally saw his winning streak come to an end, with Ian Loversidge getting the better of the reigning champion in race two.

Standing on the top step of the podium at every opportunity this season, Roddison’s victory-run looked set to continue as the Class A ace powered his way to victory in race one ahead of Loversidge and Jeremy Shipley.

Loversidge then produced a commanding performance in the afternoon’s later race to lead from lights-to-flag, notching his first win of the season whilst Shipley and Roddison followed close behind to round out the rostrum.

The BARC Super Silhouette Championship also saw an unbeaten run come to an end too as Chris Brockenhurst scored his inaugural victory of 2019, ending Malcolm Blackman’s unbeaten run.

The 11-lap race was to be the only one for the silhouette category as the second encounter was cancelled.

Capping off the day’s action at Mallory Park was a trio of races from the Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Series. Staging sprint races instead of its traditional history-making endurance races, the much-loved one-make series put on a show for those in attendance.

Spy Motorsport’s Joshua Potter scored victory in races one and three whilst Texense driver Stephen James ensured that Potter couldn’t take a clean sweep in race two.

BARC set to produce Mallory Park magic on Sunday

The British Automobile Racing Club’s sensational summer of club motorsport is set to continue at Mallory Park this Sunday (July 28) as four categories descend on the Leicestershire circuit for what should be an action-packed race day.

In what has proven to be a captivating Pickup Truck Racing Championship campaign to-date, the infamous oval layout of Mallory Park will play host to the latest two rounds of much-loved championship.

Four events have already been put into the books, producing seven different winners however all eyes will be on Michael Smith as he bids to extend his lead in the standings. Hitting the front last time out at Thruxton, Smith enters the weekend as leader of the pack and will be keen to extend his advantage over George Turiccki.

Other notable names to look out for across both encounters include Dale Gent, David O’Regan, Mark Willis, Reece Jones and Paul Tompkins, all of whom have won races.

The Max5 Racing Championship will reach the halfway marker of its own 2019 season and if the previous three events are anything to go by then those in attendance will be in for a feast of on-track entertainment.

It has proven to be another ultra-competitive season for the multi-class championship and it is expected that the likes of serial race-winner Paul Roddison, Ian Loversidge, Andrew Pretorius and Jeremy Shipley will all be in the mix for overall honours.

A history-making Distrigo Parts Distribution Citroen C1 Series campaign will continue too during race day as the one-make series makes its maiden visit to Mallory Park for an exhilarating trio of 20-minute races.

Running under a sprint format as opposed to its traditional endurance spectacles, the single-make category has flourished in recent years, growing in stature along the way. With entertainment only around the corner in the C1’s, it will be a case of blink and you’ll miss the action on Sunday.

Capping off the day’s action from the infamous circuit will be a pair of races from the BARC Super Silhouette Championship. Home to spaceframe coupe and saloon cars, the category is designed to encourage close competition and keep costs down – something that has taken place in spades already this year.

With two trips to Brands Hatch and one to Pembrey ticked off, the day’s two races will likely be centred around whether Malcolm Blackman can continue his rich vein of form. Winning every race so far, Blackman leads the standings but will likely come under threat from the likes of Steve Burrows, Keith White and Chris Brockenhurst.

BARC takes centre stage at Brands Hatch

Brands Hatch played a host to a memorable two days of British Automobile Racing Club action this past weekend (June 22/23) as the sun shone on the Kent venue and the five categories in action.

Celebrating 30th Anniversary of the production of the Mazda MX-5 and 25 years since the inception of the MX-5 Owners Club, the MAX5 Racing Championship had plenty to celebrate around the Indy circuit over the course of the weekend.

Whilst there was plenty to see away from the track in the paddock, on it there was a familiar feel to things as Paul Roddison continued his dominance. Entering the weekend having won every race to date in 2019, Roddison enjoyed another a perfect performance as he scored another victory double.

Race one proved to be a frenetic affair as Roddison held off a charging Ian Loversidge to win by a mere tenth of a second whilst Andrew Pretorius rounded out the podium in the third. Race two proved to be a carbon copy results as Roddison led the same two drivers to the chequered flag.

The penultimate round of the 2CV Parts.com Classic Racing Championship had its own fair share of drama as drivers battled for supremacy. Alec Graham served up a storming drive in race one to record his first win of the season after narrowly edging out former multiple champion Lien Davies.

Keen to bounce back from failing to finish the opener, reigning title holder and points leader Pete Sparrow underlined his credentials as the man to beat as he powered his way to yet another win, little under a second ahead of Graham.

In the Caterham Graduates Championship, some familiar names found themselves at the summit of the leaderboards once again. Firstly, spoils were spilt between Samuel Wilson and Stephen Clark in the Sigmax races whilst the combined 135/150/Mega/Classic encounters saw Barry White dominate.

Capping off the weekend was an abundance of tin top thrills from the KW Automotive Classic VW Cup, TDi North Honda VTEC Challenge and Uncle Luke’s BARC Saloon Series.

The amalgamated VW Cup and VTEC Challenge races saw Ben Rushworth rule the roost as he scored a pair of wins in his Honda Integra whilst Craig Rainer did the same in the BARC Saloon Series, notching a double of his own in his Ford Escort RS2000.

Brands Hatch geared to host blockbuster BARC weekend

Brands Hatch will play host to a blockbuster two days of British Automobile Racing Club action this coming weekend (June 22/23) as several categories write the latest chapter of their 2019 campaigns around the Indy circuit.

In what is latest visit to the Kent venue by the Club, the 1.2 mile configuration is set to play host to  a frenetic 12 races.

The Max5 Racing Championship is set for a milestone weekend as a bumper grid will play its part in some special anniversary celebrations. This year marks 30 years of production of the iconic Mazda MX5 whilst it is also 25 years of the MX5 Owners Club, and both will be recognised over the course of the weekend.

On track, Max5 racers from a variety of different championships have been invited to join in on the celebrations, further adding to the exhilarating racing that is usually produced by the championship anyway.

Notable names to look out for during the weekend’s two races include Paul Roddison – who has won every race so far this season – Matthew Tidmarsh, Jeremy Shipley and Ian Loversidge.

The Caterham Graduates Championship will also be in action with its multi-class grid brimming with scintillating talent. Having starred at several events already this year the one-make series is expected to take on a starring role across its four scheduled encounters.

This year has seen Samuel Wilson, Mark Carter, Robin Webb, Kevin Barrett and Luke Balmforth all star so expect the usual protagonists to be in the mix.

Fans of all things saloon car racing will be well catered for too across both days as the KW Automotive Classic VW Cup, TDi North Honda VTEC Challenge and Uncle Luke’s BARC Saloon Series take to the track for a series of races.

Showcasing all manner of tin top machines, all three categories boast a wealth of drivers and different models of car – all of which trade place at nearly every turn.

This weekend will see the KW Automotive Classic VW Cup and TDi North Honda VTEC Challenge amalgamated together whilst the Uncle Luke’s BARC Saloon Series will run on its own.

Sun shines on memorable weekend at Pembrey for Spring Truckfest

Pembrey Circuit served up a captivating two days of track action this past weekend (May 11/12) as several British Automobile Racing Club championships continued their 2019 campaigns.

Basking in bright sunshine throughout both days, a bumper crowd descended on the picturesque Welsh venue for one of the biggest events of the year – Spring Truckfest.

Making the first of two visits to South Wales to headline the action was the MV Commercial BTRA Championship, and all seven races didn’t disappoint. Division 1 saw the ongoing duel between reigning champion Ryan Smith and David Jenkins take another turn, as the pair squabbled for supremacy.

Smith struck first with victory in the opening encounter before Jenkins bounced back with a win of his own in race two, albeit narrowly ahead of the three-time title winner.

A stunning last lap overtake in the third encounter handed the advantage back to Smith before the three-time title winner capped off his weekend in style by completing his hat-trick in the combined finale.

In Division 2, Luke Garrett continued his march towards securing back-to-back titles with another superlative performance. Storming to pole position, the MAN driver clinched a lights-to-flag victory in the opener before doing the same in race three.

Paul Rivett scored a hugely popular first win in the series also whilst Steve Powell also tasted success by powering towards the top step of the podium in the final race of the weekend.

The Pickup Truck Racing Championship served up plenty of unpredictability once more as a trio of races were played out around the 1.49 mile layout. Paul Tompkins edged out a nail-biting battle for victory in the opening race ahead of Michael Smith and Mark Willis before Reece Jones came to the fore in race two to prevail.

The third and final race from the Pickup Trucks saw Dale Gent charge towards the summit to become the third different race winner in the series.

Malcolm Blackman continued his dominant start to the year in the BARC Super Silhouette Championship with a further three wins at Pembrey. Having topped the podium twice at the Brands Hatch season-opener, Blackman extended his unbeaten start to the season with a commanding performance.

As Blackman starred Chris Brockenhurst, Steve Burrows and Danny Hunn all also picked up podium finishes.

There was further dominance in the Max5 Racing Championship as well as Paul Roddison notched two wins to extend his perfect start to the 2019 campaign. Coming off the back of claiming a sensational hat-trick of wins at Croft, Roddison underlined his credentials as the man to beat in superlative circumstances.

Roddison battled back from fourth to head Ian Loversidge and Andrew Pretorius in race one before then doing the same in race two, this time doing so from lights-to-flag.

The BARC Saloons Series, TDi North Honda VTEC Challenge and KW Automotive Classic VW Cup amalgamated together once again to give fans of all things tin tops plenty to get excited about.

William Casswell piloted his Honda Civic to the top of the rostrum in race one before the eye-catching Ford Sierra XR4i of Ashley Shelswell triumphed later on.

Rounding out the weekend’s action were a pair of races from the Welsh Sports & Saloon Car Championship which were both won by Keith Butcher.

Pembrey revved up and ready for two-day Spring Truckfest meeting

Pembrey Circuit is gearing up for one of the biggest events of the season in South Wales this weekend (May 11/12) as a host of British Automobile Racing Club championships descend on the popular venue for Spring Truckfest.

In what has become a marque two-day event in recent years, a bumper crowd is set to line the spectator bankings over the course of the weekend to soak up all of the on and off track entertainment, of which there is plenty for the whole family.

Headlining the on-track action will be several races from the MV Commercial BTlRA Championship. Roaring into life at Brands Hatch in style, the heavyweight behemoths head to Pembrey for the second event of the 2019 campaign and with it all to play for in both Divisions.

Ryan Smith and David Jenkins find themselves locked in a battle at the top of the points in Division 1 currently after emerging as the early pace-setters from the round one.

After ruling the roost at the season-opener, Ryan Smith and David Jenkins enter round two with nothing between them in the points. Sharing the spoils along with Stuart Oliver last time out, the pair are set to renew their rivalry further as they bid to gain the upper-hand. John Newell, Richard Collett and Simon Reid will all likely be in the mix too.

Division 2 currently sees a familiar face at the summit of the standings with Luke Garrett getting the defence of his title off to a strong start. Winning twice last time out, Garrett will be keen to continue his momentum however the likes of Steve Powell, Paul Rivett and Erik Forsstrom will be worth keeping a keen eye on too.

More truck racing action will be on offer at Pembrey in the shape of the Pickup Truck Racing Championship, which also resumes after a pulsating season-opener at Brands Hatch. Two more races from the much-loved series will likely get those in attendance on the edge of their seats from the get-go.

Those with a keen interest in all things tin tops will be well-catered for as the KW Automotive Classic VW Cup, BARC Saloon Series and TDi North Honda VTEC Challenge continue their campaigns.

All roaring into life at Silverstone a couple of weeks back, the very best in saloon car machinery will be on display over the course of the weekend with a raft of notable names to keep an eye on.

The Max5 Racing Championship will be back in action with Paul Roddison aiming to maintain his scintillating start to the year. Roddison scored a sensational hat-trick at Croft and will be eyeing further success across the weekend.

Fans will also be able to get behind a host of local drivers too as the Welsh Racing Drivers Association Championship takes centre stage. With a variety of cars set to duke it out for supremacy, the WRDA is one not to be missed.

BARC produces spellbinding weekend in Spring sunshine at Croft

The British Automobile Racing Club produced a spellbinding two days of track action at Croft Circuit this past weekend (April 13/14), with a trio of championships continuing to gather momentum.

On what was the first event on the newly laid surface at Croft, the sun shone on a busy trackside crowd – all of whom soaked up a feast of thrills and spills across both days.

In the Junior Saloon Car Championship, Scott McIntyre proved to be in irresistible form as he produced a flawless weekend performance, scoring a pair of pole positions and a pair of race wins.

Having come into the weekend trailing defending champion Lewis Saunders in the standings, the former Scholarship winner underlined his credentials as a threat for the title in North Yorkshire in fine style.

Separated by little over three tenths of a second at the chequered flag, McIntyre narrowly edged out Jemma Moore in race one whilst Saunders followed the duelling duo to round off the podium. 

Race two later in the weekend would see the roles reversed with Saunders being the closest challenger to McIntyre, albeit he wasn’t able to topple the impressive teenage as he chalked up his third consecutive victory of the year, with Moore capping off a stellar weekend with another podium finish.

Records were broken in the Caterham Graduates Championship as the popular one-make category boasted a bumper 33-car entry for its second event of the season. Coming off the back of a pulsating 2019 curtain-raiser at Silverstone, Samuel Wilson showcased his talents behind the wheel with a mesmerising performance.

Bagging pole position and a new lap record around the iconic 2.1 mile circuit, Wilson emerged to be in a league of his own as he broke away from the chasing pack in race one to cross the line by more than eight seconds ahead of Jamie Ellwood and Stephen Clark

Wilson was then in even more dominant form in race two as he again converted pole position into a commanding lead. Piloting his SigMax machine, Wilson scampered into the distance to clinch the chequered flag ten seconds ahead of Ellwood and Clark once again – capping off a stellar two days of track action.

Paul Roddison picked up where he left off last year in the Max5 Racing Championship as the series roared into life for the first time in 2019. Having been the man to beat in 2018, the Roddison  juggernaut continued as he bagged victory in all three encounters.

Taking pole position ahead of Ian Loversidge in qualifying, Roddison showed his challengers a clean set of heels as he romped away to notch a perfect hat-trick amongst the Spring sunshine.

Loversidge, Matthew Tidmarsh, Jeremy Shipley and Andrew Pretorius all netted podiums behind the dominant Roddison.

Competing alongside the BARC categories was the Mini 7 Racing Club and the North Sports Saloon Car Championship where Lee Deegan, Aaron Smith, Joe Thompson, Dom Burger and Park Brydon ran out the victors in their respective championships.

BARC championship trio gearing up for Croft corker

The British Automobile Racing Club travels to North Yorkshire this weekend (April 13/14) for a pulsating two days of action at Croft, with three of the Club’s championships set to go all-out to steal the show.

In recent weeks Croft has seen hive of activity with a brand new track surface being laid around the entire 2.1 mile circuit, and this weekend marks the first event since the extensive work has been completed.

An entertaining pair races at Oulton Park kicked off the Junior Saloon Car Championship last month and the one-make series will continue to gather momentum at Croft. Showcasing the very best UK talent aged between 14 and 17, the Citroen Saxo category has forged a path for itself in recent years as the place to be for those wanting to take their first steps onto the motorsport ladder.

Reigning champion Lewis Saunders currently resides as the driver to beat at the summit of the points after a win and second place last time out, however a raft of drivers will be keen to topple him across the weekend’s two races.

Fellow Oulton Park race-winner Scott McIntyre, Thomas Ward, Owen Hizzey, Alex Jay and Kyle Nisbet all find themselves within striking distance of the current title holder and will be ones to watch.

The Caterham Graduates Championship has also enjoyed another stellar start to the season with an edge-of-the-seat curtain-raiser at Silverstone providing the building blocks for what is shaping up to be another vintage year.

Split into multiple classes depending on engine capacity, the popular single-marque series has become a stable for close-quarter action down the years and that is set to be no different as they face the challenges Croft presents.

Samuel Wilson, Jamie Ellwood, Jon Curry, Kevin Barrett and Luke Balmforth are just a handful of drivers to keep a keen eye on as the weekend progresses.

Whilst both the JSCC and the Caterham Graduates have already competed this year, the Max5 Racing Championship will kick its 2019 campaign this weekend. Run on the principle of providing exciting racing at an affordable price, the championship is set to scale new heights once more this year.

Classes A, B & C are well populated with a raft of familiar names including reigning champion Paul Roddison, Jeremy Shipley, Ian Loversidge and Andrew Pretorius – all of them whom are set to be firmly in the mix across both races.

Joining the BARC categories over the course of the weekend will be the Mini Miglia Championship, Mini Se7en Championship, and the North Saloons and Sports Car Championship.

The final race of the weekend will also see the NSSCC welcome ‘Allcomers’ for a 15-minute encounter that is likely set to end the event on a high note.

There were further title celebrations for a host of drivers at Brands Hatch this past weekend (October 27/28) as the British Automobile Racing Club brought the curtain down on more championships.

As the 2018 motorsport season continues to draw to a close, the first of several visits to the Kent circuit by the BARC served up a feast of entertainment, with the Classic Touring Car Championship and Max5 Racing Championship taking centre stage.

The combined Class & Historic Thunder and Burton Power Blue Oval Saloon Series races showcased what the CTCRC is all about as Dave Cockell reigned supreme, taking a pair of wins in his striking Ford Escort Cosworth.

Spoils were shared between Mini drivers Barry Sime and Paul Inch in the Pre 66 Classic Saloon and Historic Touring Cars encounters whilst David Howard and Stephen Primett did the same in the Pre 83 Touring Cars category.

Fans of more modern machinery would have been glued to the amalgamated Pre 93 Touring Cars, Pre 2003 Touring Cars and Pre 05 Production Saloon Cars, both of which delivered unrelenting thrills and spills throughout. Come the end of the weekend, Ray West and Alexander Own took a win apiece.

With Brands Hatch proving to be the footnote of the Classic Touring Car Championship season, it also meant that champions would be crowned; Stephen Primett, Steve Barden and Anna Barden just some of them.

In the Max5 Racing Championship, two wins for Paul Roddison meant that he asserted himself as the man to beat in the series whilst also wrapping up the title in Class C. Roddison was at his brilliant best around the Indy circuit and couldn’t be matched, despite the best efforts of Ian Loversidge.

Variety was the spice of life in the BARC South East Tin Tops Championship where Rod Birley and Bradley Lane scored one win each. Birley was in superlative form across the weekend as he also scored victory in the BARC South East Modified Saloon Car Championship too, with Andy Thompson also triumphing.

Lewis Smith meanwhile wrapped up the weekend’s BARC action in the Scrapco Avon Intermarque Championship as he romped to a pair of race wins.
